The default Business Card size in UK & Ireland is 85 x 55 mm. This is by no means a global standard.
Every country is a little different.
In fact, many countries have different standards. Even though there is no specific meaning nor any obligation to stick to a certain size, most people tend to choose the most common option.
It is not a must to have to have the standard business card size, and this is purely a matter of preference. If you don’t care about the size of your business card, just keep the standard, default size of your country or region.
These days, unique and different business card sizes are also becoming popular. Mini or square cards are not hard to spot in networking events, and these cards will make you raise your eyebrows. Especially if the design is beautiful and the material of the card feels nice to look and touch.
We have compiled a list with all the countries we are aware of their business card size. We do not operate in every single country mentioned below, so it’s possible some of these figures aren’t correct. If that’s the case, please let us know.
The table displays the final business card size and excludes any bleed. When preparing artwork for printing, make sure to include an additional 2-3mm bleed on each side. If you are printing with another printer (not with us), check what printing requirements they may have. Some printers may require up to 5mm bleed, whereas some others may be okay with 1,5 mm bleed.
